Harambee Stars secured a crucial 1-0 win over Zanzibar in their final Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup Group B match at the Lugogo Stadium in Kampala on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
Ulinzi Stars forward Oscar Wamalwa scored the winning goal in the 49th minute, securing Kenya's top spot in the group with nine points.
Assistant coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno expressed his team's readiness for the semi-final, stating, 'Zanzibar are a good side and I think they were unlucky to pick just a point in their first two games.'
Kenya will face either Eritrea or Djibouti in the semi-finals on Tuesday, with Zico confident that his team is prepared to battle for the title.
'We are the defending champions, and our target is to defend the title. We have prepared well, and everything is going on well so far,' Zico added.
