On December 5, 2019, a dramatic incident unfolded at Club Northlink in Dandora, Nairobi, when a 20-year-old footballer allegedly stole a kettle valued at Sh3,500.

The accused, Anthony Kerore Maina, is said to have walked into the pub, gone straight upstairs, and made away with the kettle, which was used to warm water for customers.

However, his actions did not go unnoticed, as the supervisor, Silvanus Melea Otieno, reportedly stopped him on the staircase, but Maina turned violent, resulting in a commotion.

He allegedly wrestled the supervisor and fled, but Otieno later managed to recover the kettle.

After reviewing CCTV footage, Maina was identified and arrested on December 12, 2019, and was later released on a Sh10,000 cash bail.

The case will be heard from April 15, 2020, before senior principal magistrate Angelo Kithinji.
