Ulinzi Warriors are on the cusp of reclaiming the National Classic Basketball League title, which they last won in 2015.

With a 99-51 win over Thunder in Game Three of the playoff finals at the Nyayo National Stadium on Friday night, the soldiers took a 2-1 lead ahead of Saturday's Game Four at the same venue.

The win puts Ulinzi in a strong position to seal the title, but Thunder still has a glimmer of hope and must win Game Four to stay alive.

Ulinzi's victory was largely due to their dominance on the boards, with the team controlling both offensive and defensive rebounds in the second half.

Eric Mutoro was a standout performer for Ulinzi, scoring 19 points, while James Mwangi, Joseph Khaemba, and William Ochieng contributed 17, 14, and 12 points respectively.

For Thunder, Griffin Ligare top-scored with 20 points, while Faheem Juma added 14.
