On a night that was meant to be a celebration of youth and freedom, a young man from South Africa chose to make it a special moment for his mother instead.
Ash Sicqo Ndlovu, a Grade 12 pupil, took his mother to his high school farewell dance party, a gesture that has since gone viral on social media.
According to Ndlovu, his mother never got to attend her own farewell dance party because she was pregnant with him at the time.
He wanted to give her the opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of the event, and so he took her along as his date.
Ndlovu's mother wore a beautiful mermaid-style olive green dress that matched his olive green suit, making them a stunning pair on the dance floor.
The gesture has been met with widespread praise and admiration, with many people commenting on how thoughtful and kind Ndlovu is.
