On December 13, 2019, a shocking incident of landlord-tenant violence occurred in Meru, where a tenant was physically assaulted by his landlady.
The tenant, who goes by the Twitter handle @jimmywamai, took to social media to share his story, stating that he recorded the incident because he knew 'how it is when you defend yourself against women.'
According to the tenant, the landlady physically assaulted him after he demanded his Ksh. 72,000 rent back. He reported the incident at a local police station and filled a medical examination report (P3 Form) that was used to prosecute the woman.
She was later released on cash bail after authorities crafted a solution that required the tenant to be given back his Ksh. 72,000 and vacate the house immediately.
