On December 13, 2019, Governor Moses Lenolkulal of Samburu County reshuffled his cabinet, a move that has sparked a fresh controversy in his corruption case.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has now filed a petition seeking to have the bail granted to the governor revoked, citing a clear violation of the bail terms.

According to the DPP, Governor Lenolkulal was ordered to stay away from his office until his case is heard and determined, but he went ahead and reshuffled his cabinet, disregarding the court's orders.

Earlier in February 2019, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives had interdicted Governor Lenolkulal, accusing him of corruption charges, including the loss of Kshs2 billion county funds, abuse of office, and conflict of interest.

The governor was also accused of using his company, Oryx service station, to supply diesel to the county government.

Despite the allegations, Governor Lenolkulal successfully managed to have his bail reviewed from Kshs100 million to Kshs10 million.

However, his recent actions have now put his bail in jeopardy, with the DPP seeking to have it canceled.
