On December 14, 2019, a farmer in Baringo county lost over 400 heads of cattle to rustlers, leaving him distressed.
Joseph Ole Moyoi had taken the herd to a grazing field when he was attacked by unknown bandits who carted away the prized animals.
"They fled with all my cattle leaving me wondering poor and sickly, I was a bit confused even though they left me unhurt but I lost everything to the rustlers," said Moyoi.
He reported the incident to the nearest police station but received no help.
However, a neighbour referred him to an international medicine man, Dr. Okello Nyasi, who claimed to be able to help him recover his cattle.
Dr. Okello Nyasi arrived and conducted traditional rituals, placing rare medicine from Singapore at the site where the cattle were stolen.
Two days later, Moyoi was called by a relative that 370 cattle had been recovered in Tiaty. He rushed there and found three people believed to be part of the rustlers feeding on grass.
The rest of the cattle had been taken by other rustlers, but Dr. Okello Nyasi was tracking them down.
Those who were caught were thoroughly beaten by the public but were rescued by police officers on patrol.
Dr. Okello Nyasi also claims to treat cancer, fight evil spirits, provide medicine for barren couples, restore broken marriages, treat skin diseases, and use bees to catch thieves.
He operates in various towns across Kenya, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Kitale.
