On December 13, 2019, Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal reshuffled his cabinet, a move that has sparked controversy.

Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has filed a petition seeking to have Lenolkulal's bail terminated, citing violation of the terms of the bail.

Lenolkulal was arrested in April 2019 and charged with corruption, abuse of office, and conflict of interest. He denied the charges and secured a bail of KSh 10 million with the court barring him from accessing his office.

However, the governor went ahead to reshuffle his cabinet, a move that has been deemed a violation of the bail terms.

Lenolkulal was first arrested in February 2019 by Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) officials who raided his Karen home in an early morning swoop.

The EACC officials linked the governor to the loss of KSh 2 billion county funds, abuse of office, and conflict of interest.

He was arrested for the second time in April 2019 after the DPP issued a warrant of arrest against him over KSh 84 million fuel scam.

Lenolkulal later secured a bail term of KSh 10 million from the initial KSh 100 million which he successfully challenged to be reviewed.

One of the conditions for the bail was that he stays away from his office until his case is heard and determined.
