Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that he will not speak to any of his players about their immediate futures until January, as the club considers whether to strengthen during the transfer window.
The club's Fifa-imposed transfer ban was reduced on appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, allowing Chelsea to sign players again. However, strikers Olivier Giroud and Willian, as well as forward Pedro, have contracts that expire at the end of the season and will be free to talk to other clubs in the New Year.
Despite this, Lampard has expressed his happiness with Giroud's work and has stated that he would like the France striker to stay at the club. However, he will not seek out chats about transfer plans with his players until January.
"No. All the players that are here, I won't have any talk about anything until January," Lampard said.
Chelsea have been linked with a January swoop for Bournemouth's Nathan Ake, with the Blues retaining a £40 million buy-back clause for their former defender. However, Lampard has stated that he is happy with his current back four and will not be looking to strengthen in this area until the transfer window opens.
