Kenya Sevens kicked off their South Africa Sevens campaign on a high note, defeating Samoa 24-19 in a thrilling Pool D encounter at the Cape Town Stadium on December 13, 2019.

Kenya's Dan Sikuta, Alvin Otieno, Daniel Taabu, and Billy 'The Kid' Odhiambo each scored a try, giving their team a 17-7 lead at halftime.

Taabu added two conversions to Kenya's tally, securing their 13th-place finish in the opening leg of the 2019/2020 World Rugby Series in Dubai the previous weekend.
