On Jamhuri Day, Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti made it clear that his administration would not tolerate corruption among county officials. Speaking at Sindo Primary School in Suba Sub county, Awiti told officials implicated in corruption to leave office.

"If you are implicated in corruption, you will have to go home," Awiti said, emphasizing that his administration would not harbour corrupt officials. He urged those implicated to take responsibility for their actions and leave office voluntarily.

Awiti's administration has already taken action against corrupt officials, with two county officials and a former official charged with corruption, and a warrant of arrest issued against three others. The governor also gave a seven-day ultimatum for the closure of Wadiang'a beach in Sindo town due to rising insecurity.

Awiti's message was clear: corruption would not be tolerated in Homa Bay County. He urged residents to collaborate with security officials in the fight against crime and to hold corrupt officials accountable.
