Published on December 13, 2019, a statue of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic outside Malmo Stadium in Sweden has been targeted by vandals for the second time in a month.

The 3.5-metre tall statue, which was set on fire by angry fans last month, has now been attacked with a saw, with police discovering a rope around its neck and saw marks on its feet.

According to a Malmo police spokeswoman, the vandals attempted to saw through the statue's feet in the early hours of Thursday morning, prompting police to erect a fence around it to prevent it from falling.

The statue has been a target of angry fans since Ibrahimovic announced he had acquired a stake in a rival team, Hammarby, in Stockholm.

Ibrahimovic, who made his name at Malmo FF before a trophy-laden career abroad, is Sweden's record international goalscorer with 62 goals in 116 games.
