Published on December 13, 2019, a landslide at Chugor area of Marakwet East has completely blocked the Kitale highway, disrupting traffic flow.

The landslide occurred on the Kitale – Kachibora – Kapchero – Makutano – Kapyego – Chesoi – Chesongoch – Tot (B15) road at Chesoi area, according to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

KeNHA Corporate Communication Assistant Director Charles Njogu urged motorists to exercise caution and follow instructions from the police and team on the ground.

“Motorists are requested to approach the section with caution and follow instructions given by the police and team on the ground,” said Njogu.

As an alternative route, motorists are advised to use the Biretwo – Tot road.

KeNHA has mobilized a contractor to clear the road and allow passage of traffic at the affected section.
