On December 11, a tragic incident occurred in the Helma neighborhood of Cherangany Constituency, Trans Nzoia County, where a man named David Korombe Ekiru allegedly killed his girlfriend, Monica Cherop.

According to eyewitnesses, the couple had a history of frequent fights, and it is unclear whether their argument led to Cherop's death.

"They were always fighting and arguing, but we don't know if their fight led to her death," said one of the neighbors.

The police commander for Trans Nzoia County, Ayub Ali, confirmed that the victim's body had multiple injuries on the head and limbs, suggesting that she was attacked with a machete.

The victim's body was taken to the Kitale Sub-County Hospital morgue for further examination, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of her death.
