Published on December 13, 2019, Tanzanian gospel singer Christina Shusho revealed that she was in debt after purchasing land in different areas between 2016 and 2018.

Shusho shared her story on her new YouTube channel, Reli, where she explained that she had initially wanted to build a house in Mikocheni, Tanzania, but the seller quoted her an expensive price.

She recalled,

“I wanted to build a house, it was my dream to have a house, one with a swimming pool, it was in Mikocheni, Tanzania. The seller gave me a very expensive price. I told her that I couldn’t so she showed me another place. That house was being lived by a pastor.”

The pastor's wife agreed to leave, and Shusho paid the sellers the exact amount they wanted in cash.

However, the pastor expected Shusho to pay him in installments, which led to a change in her life. She explained,

“When the pastor saw that, he thought I had money. My life changed from there. what I had, I used to give it to the pastor for the house to finish my debt. The system of my life totally changed and I was living a life that I was being owed. The pastor was really stubborn and at the time, I was not picking his calls.”

Shusho continued to pay the pastor until she finished the debt in 2017.

She also revealed that she had purchased another plot of land in 2017, but her life was still affected by the debt. Shusho shared,

“In 2017, my brother died. It was a very difficult time for me. He was pushing me. I found myself alone. I wanted to invest but I kept it a secret. It was a moment where I couldn’t go forward or behind. I wanted to sell the property but I thought who was going to buy in such an area. I felt like it was a shame.”

Shusho eventually decided to pray about her situation and has since settled her debts.

She revealed that when she finished paying off her debts, her income tripled, as she explained,

“When I finished the debts, my income tripled.”

Shusho's story serves as a reminder of the importance of being cautious when making financial decisions.
