Published on December 13, 2019, a group of concerned parents, board members, and stakeholders of Agoro Sare High School in Homa Bay county have called upon the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, and the Teachers Service Commission to investigate the school's principal, Momanyi Aduke.
They claim that Aduke has been running the school as his personal property, engaging in nepotism, and violating the Ministry of Education's rules and procurement regulations.
Parents have expressed their dissatisfaction with the principal's management style, citing instances where he has failed to implement the school's strategic plan and has instead prioritized his personal business interests.
It is alleged that Aduke's wife supplies bread and cereals to the school, while his sisters are the main suppliers of groceries, despite the availability of these items in the surrounding area.
Furthermore, parents have accused Aduke of single-sourcing contractors and suppliers, which has led to conflicts with the board members, parents, and stakeholders.
They have threatened to block the principal's entry into the school when it reopens next term if he is not removed by January.
