On Jamhuri Day, December 12, 2019, Ochungulo Family dropped a new single that's making waves in the Kenyan music scene.

The song, titled 'Ngwai', is a slang term for marijuana, and its release has sparked a mix of reactions from fans and critics alike.

According to the group, 'Ngwai' is a call to legalize marijuana, with the lyrics stating, 'Ngwaii is the medicine fi di Nation. Legalize di natural healing. If you know you know.'

While some have criticized the group for promoting marijuana use, others have praised their creativity and humor in the song.

With over 65,000 views in just 24 hours, 'Ngwai' is a clear indication of the group's popularity and influence in the Gengetone scene.

Interestingly, this is not the first marijuana-themed song to be released in Kenya. Sailors, another Gengetone group, dropped a similar song, 'Wakiritho', just a month prior to Ochungulo Family's release.
