On January 1, 2020, Edwin Macharia will take the reins as Dalberg Advisors' Global Managing Partner, marking the beginning of a 3-year term. He succeeds Yana Kakar, who has led the firm since 2013.
Edwin has been with Dalberg for 11 years, holding various roles, including founding the firm's first East Africa office in 2008 and establishing the Agriculture and Food Security Practice. He has also served two terms as Regional Director for Africa.
Henrik Skovby, Dalberg's Founder, praised Edwin's innovative spirit, saying, "Edwin has spearheaded a lot of innovation into the new business lines within the Group. That will serve him well as he steps forward to lead Dalberg's biggest and longest-standing business."
