Liverpool Set to Sign Japanese Star Takumi Minamino from Salzburg

Japanese midfielder Takumi Minamino is on the verge of joining Liverpool from Austrian club Salzburg. The Reds are reportedly ready to activate his £7.25m release clause in January to bolster their squad further.

Minamino impressed Liverpool in the Champions League, scoring a stunning volley against them in October. The Japanese player's performance caught the attention of several clubs, including AC Milan and Manchester United, but he has reportedly fancied a move to Merseyside more.

Minamino's impressive display against Liverpool in the Champions League has been widely praised, with several senior players from the Reds having nothing but praise for him. A video clip of Jurgen Klopp's reaction after Minamino scored against them earlier in the season has since gone viral.

With the January window drawing closer, the transfer rumor mill has been on overdrive, with another big name linked with Liverpool being Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho. Sancho has been in red-hot form for the German club, but there have been rumors he is still unsettled and would welcome a move away from the Signal Iduna Park.
