On Tuesday, a gruesome crime shook Nyamariba village in Kisii county, Kenya. A middle-aged man, George Morara, allegedly killed his wife, Jessica Moraa, and disposed of her body in a pit latrine.
According to the police, Morara was arrested on Wednesday evening, along with his second wife, and taken to Oyugis Police Station for interrogation.
During the interrogation, Morara confessed to the crime, revealing that he had been having issues with his wife for the past few months.
Residents of Nyamariba village claim that Morara has a history of violence and that the couple had been married for over 10 years.
On Tuesday evening, Morara's brother, Mike Onyiego, reported hearing screams coming from their homestead, but he did not investigate further.
It was not until Wednesday morning, when Morara was seen in blood-stained clothes, that the police were alerted to the situation.
With the help of the villagers, the police retrieved the body from the pit latrine, a process that took almost six hours.
The body was later taken to the mortuary by the police.
