On December 4, 2019, a family's world was turned upside down when their son, a third-year student at Egerton University, went missing.

Mr. Dennis Kimutai Wendot, a student at the Nakuru-based institution, was last seen by his family on November 28, 2019.

His father, Jacob Wendot, from Bumala home in Busia County, expressed his deep concern for his son's safety, saying, "I called my son after the strike but I could not reach him, I am disturbed and worried of his safety," in a phone call to Nation.

Mr. Wendot's daughter, Viola Wendot, a student at Kenyatta University, reported that she had been unable to reach her brother on phone since December 4, 2019.

"We last chatted on WhatsApp on Tuesday morning," said Ms. Wendot.

The case has been reported at Njoro Police Station, and investigations are underway to establish Mr. Wendot's whereabouts.

Mr. Wendot described his son as a "humble, and jovial young man."

Student leaders at Egerton University, led by Egerton University Students Association chairperson Henry Mulyungi, have also joined the search efforts, appealing to people of goodwill to help find Mr. Kimutai.
