Published on December 12, 2019, Moses Kuria's statement has sparked outrage among Kenyans.
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has sparked controversy with his recent statement calling Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru a harlot and kleptomaniac.
According to Kuria, President Kenyatta's decision to entrust the National Youth Service (NYS) program to Waiguru was a mistake, as she is a kleptomaniac harlot.
However, Kuria's statement has been met with strong reactions from Kenyans, with many defending Waiguru and calling for Kuria to apologize.
Timothy Kabira Ndubai, for instance, accused Kuria of being aware that he is dying politically and trying to distract from his impending retirement.
Adede Owalla Derep-Ruoth, on the other hand, defended Waiguru, saying that Kuria's insults are unwarranted and that Waiguru is a clean and respected leader.
Richard Barake called for Kuria's rehabilitation, saying that he needs help to overcome his anger issues.
Hillaire de Lilechi advised Kuria to focus on his family and spend quality time with his wife.
Nyabiba Asamba and Peter Musyoka also reacted to Kuria's statement, with Asamba saying that Kenya has never been the same since Waiguru was married and Musyoka questioning when Kuria became aware of Waiguru's alleged kleptomania.
