Published on December 12, 2019, Senator Boni Khalwale has welcomed the decision by his colleague, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, to endorse Deputy President William Ruto as the best candidate for the 2022 presidential election.
According to Khalwale, many opposition leaders have started to support Ruto, and the 2022 general election is approaching.
As a staunch supporter of Ruto, Khalwale stated that opposition leaders are now shifting their stance and will soon declare their support for Ruto.
He further stated that leaders who were once the pillars of the NASA coalition in 2017, including himself, David Ndii, and three other leaders, have now decided to follow Muthama's lead.
Johnson Muthama, a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga, announced on December 11 that he was ready to abandon the opposition and join Ruto's camp.
