Rio Ferdinand Predicts Liverpool's Champions League Success ¶
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has tipped Liverpool to retain the Champions League title this season.
Speaking on BT Sports, Ferdinand praised Liverpool's mentality, saying, "It's a clean sweep for Liverpool, they just look the more complete team."
He further argued that the Reds' hunger for victory will catapult them to European glory, saying, "They've just got a mentality, once you win, they've been on the cusp of winning for a couple of years but they got over that line, they won the big one, the Champions League."
Liverpool, who stunned Tottenham in the finals in Madrid last season to win the title, are in perfect shape this season, having already sealed progression to the last 16.
The Reds finished as Group E winners with 13 points, one more than Napoli who sealed a second-place spot.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will learn of their next opponent after the Monday, December 16, draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
They face the prospect of drawing Real Madrid, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, or Lyon in the last 16.
Other Premier League teams that have qualified for the knock-out stages of the continental competition include Man City, Tottenham, and Chelsea.
