On Thursday, December 12, 2019, Arsenal will face Standard Liege in a dead-rubber Europa League clash, with the Gunners already appearing to have sealed progression to the next round.
However, the team will have to do so with a largely depleted squad, as they could miss the services of up to seven players, including Nicolas Pepe, Granit Xhaka, and Kieran Tierney, who are all injured.
Additionally, German defender Shkodran Mustafi is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards in the group stages.
Interim boss Freddie Ljungberg will be forced to turn to youngsters, including Robbie Burton, Tyreece John-Jules, and James Olayinka, to fill the void left by the absent players.
"The trio of Nicolas Pepe, Granit Xhaka and Kieran Tierney is already certain to miss the Thursday clash after picking up injuries against West Ham United," tweeted Kieran Tierney.
"The three now join Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Dani Ceballos in the growing list of sidelined players," added Arsenal's official Twitter account.
