On December 12, 2019, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) honored Supreme Court Judge Isaac Lenaola as Jurist of the Year.
At 52 years old, Justice Lenaola has earned a reputation for being calm, fair, and wise in his judicial decisions.
During the award ceremony, Justice Lenaola emphasized the need for Kenyans to take individual responsibility in the fight against corruption.
He also highlighted the importance of equipping the Judiciary with necessary tools to effectively combat graft.
‘It’s time we took the fight against graft seriously and we must give Judiciary tools to fight it as a country,’ Justice Lenaola said.
He expressed gratitude to his friends, colleagues, and wife for their unwavering support over the years.
‘This lady has been my pillar and my rock for the last 21 years. She has suffered my absence many times while am away on duty,’ Justice Lenaola said of his wife.
