On December 7, 2019, John Mutinda, a father of three, lost his life in a tragic incident at the Likoni Ferry in Mombasa, Kenya.

According to his wife, Mutinda had been recovering from severe burns after she allegedly scalded him with water just a month prior to his death.

His niece revealed that her uncle had previously attempted to take his own life, citing a strange dream as the reason for his actions.

On the fateful day, Mutinda arrived at the Likoni Channel at 4:20 am, heading towards Mombasa island from the Kwale side, as per the Kenya Ferry Services.

Despite being ordered to stop, he sped past the ticketing booth and plunged into the ocean, leaving behind his vehicle, which was later retrieved six meters below the surface.

The body was pulled out of the channel at 8:40 am by the KFS and the Kenya Navy personnel, while his wife arrived at the scene and broke down in grief.
