Kenya's fight against doping in athletics has gained momentum with the recent Athletes Conference in Eldoret, attended by top runners including Eliud Kipchoge.

The conference, which brought together athletes, officials, and experts from the Athletics Integrity Unit, was a welcome step towards ensuring the country does not fall prey to the doping menace that has affected Russia.

According to BARNABAS KORIR, the conference was a success, with athletes driving the agenda on how to tackle doping. 'The kind of questions they posed to our guests left no doubt that they understand the doping subject better,' he noted.

Kenyan runners are largely clean, but a few bad apples have put the country in a bad light. Athletics Kenya is committed to keeping the anti-doping conversation going, with the aim of reviving the country's good old days.

The conference also touched on other vital issues affecting athletes, including media and athlete relations, investment and retirement, and legal issues.

One notable issue that emerged was the need for athletes to have interpreters during international championships to guide them during media interviews.

Team-building events, such as those conducted by Ali Mazoa, also helped athletes bond outside their normal training and competition arena.

Overall, the conference marked a significant step forward in Kenya's anti-doping efforts, and Athletics Kenya is committed to building on this momentum.
