On December 11, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the widow of slain Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, appeared in court seeking permission to manage her late husband's company, Tobs Kenya Gold Safaris.

Wairimu, who was charged with Cohen's murder, claimed that she co-owned the company with her husband and feared it would collapse if she was not granted permission to run it.

She also sought to have the court order police to release her dogs, which she claimed were seized without justification, and to vacate Cohen's Kitisuru home, accusing police of 'taking over' her property.

However, the prosecution opposed Wairimu's application, arguing that the house was a primary crime scene and that she should not be allowed to access it, as it would compromise the case.

Cohen, who had lived in Kenya for 32 years, went missing on July 19, 2019, before his body was found in an underground water tank at his home in Kitisuru estate on September 13, 2019.

A postmortem examination revealed that Cohen suffered severe head trauma inflicted by a blunt object and succumbed to a blow to the right side of the head.
