On Tuesday evening, Chepkwony Kimosop, a Kenya Defence Forces soldier, went missing. His body was later found hanging above the veranda of Charles Kachekere's house in Kapkiamo village, Baringo County.
According to his brother, Aaron Yegon, Chepkwony was embroiled in a domestic disagreement with his wife since learning that she was allegedly in a secret relationship with Mr. Kachekere.
Mr. Yegon alleged that his brother's wife's behaviour drove him to frustration, which could have eventually pushed him to end his life.
Relatives of the late KDF officer were overcome with emotion as police arrived on the scene and took away Mr. Kimosop's body.
They threatened to lynch Mr. Kachekere, a retired KDF officer who owns matatus plying the Kabartonjo-Kabarnet route.
Mr. Kachekere and the deceased's wife were later taken into custody to record statements and aid police in investigations.
As reported by Citizen Digital on December 11, 2019, the incident has left the community in shock.
