On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, Homeboyz secured a crucial 1-0 win over Bandari FC at the Bukhungu Stadium, catapulting them to the top of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) standings.

Christopher Masinza scored the match-winning goal in the opening 10 minutes, tapping an easy finish past Justin Ndikumana after Peter Thiongo's cross found him unmarked.

Homeboyz custodian Gabriel Andika was on fine form, denying Yema Mwana from six yards out and thwarting Bandari's attempts to force an equaliser.

With the win, Homeboyz leapfrogged Gor Mahia at the top of the KPL table, accumulating 26 points, one above the defending champions.

The Nicolas Muyoti-coached side will face Ulinzi Stars in their next match, while Bandari visit Kisumu All Stars.
