JKIA, Wilson Airport to be Temporarily Closed for Jamhuri Day

Kenya's Jamhuri Day celebrations are set to take place on December 12, 2019, with festivities centered at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi County.

As part of the celebrations, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) will be closed for one hour between 11am and 12pm, during which no flights will be allowed to take off or land.

Wilson Airport, on the other hand, will experience a 5-hour closure between 9am and 2pm.

Passengers who had booked flights during these time periods have been advised of the delays by Fly 540 and EastAfrican airlines.

According to the airlines, affected passengers are being contacted and informed of the travel disruptions.
