The Kenya Swimming Federation Long Course National Age Group and Open Championship is underway at Mombasa's Bandari swimming pool, attracting top swimmers from Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.

Organized by the Local Organising Committee, led by Chairperson Salma Jezan, the event has seen thorough preparations, with participants expected to arrive at the venue by 4:30 pm for the 5 pm start.

The championship will conclude with the Open Sea Championships on Sunday at the Bandas Nyali Beach Hotel, featuring a 1km, 2km, 3km, and 5km competition in the Indian Ocean.

According to Jezan, over 1,000 entries have been received, with Ugandan and Tanzanian swimmers expected to provide stiff competition to their Kenyan counterparts.

Kenyan swimmers, fresh from participating in the CANA swimming gala in Nairobi, are expected to participate in the championships.
