Thika Sports Club is set to host the fourth leg of the 2019/2020 Johnnie Walker Golf series this weekend, with over 200 golfers expected to participate.

The event, which is the last in this year's series before the Christmas and New Year break, will feature players from various golf clubs across the country.

Thika captain Nicholas Kabare expressed confidence in the course's condition, despite the ongoing rains that have affected other golf courses in the country.

"I expect players to enjoy a great round of golf as we have made sure that it is not just playable, but in good condition and with the weather permitting this weekend, I expect some interesting scores," said Kabare.

Some of the home players listed to participate in the event include Duncan Ndungu, David Matano, David Karuma, and Martin Gachoka, all single-figure handicap players.

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) Head of Premium Spirits, Grace Nshemeire-Gwaku, expressed the company's excitement in sponsoring the series under its Johnnie Walker Brand.

"Johnnie Walker prides itself as one of the key supporters of sports; both in Kenya and overseas. Our Karting Championship and golf series positions the brand as a key stakeholder in the sports industry," said Nshemeire-Gwaku.
