Published on December 11, 2019, photos shared on social media showed the Lord Erroll Restaurant, located in Runda Estate, Nairobi, submerged in floodwaters.

The hotel, which is reportedly owned by the family of retired President Moi, has been shut down until further notice due to unavoidable circumstances.

According to reports, the Moi family acquired the hotel in 2013 and after renovations, it was opened to the public, earning a four-star status and winning awards in the hospitality industry.

The Lord Erroll Restaurant is known for hosting exclusive events and is frequented by Kenya's elite, as reported by Nairobi News.

The hotel is named after a British aristocrat, Lord Erroll, who was executed in 1941 for having a secret love affair with Lady Diana Broughton, the wife of British aristocrat Sir Jock Broughton.
