Napoli Sacks Manager Carlo Ancelotti After Qualifying for Champions League

Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked as manager of Napoli, just days after qualifying for the Champions League.

The Italian club announced the decision on December 11, 2019, following a string of poor results that left them 17th in the Serie A table with 20 points.

Ancelotti had been at the helm of Napoli since 2018, but his tenure was marked by controversy and infighting within the club.

Laurentiis, the club's president, had previously ordered the team to train for a week in November after they slipped 11 points behind Juventus.

However, the players and Ancelotti ignored the order and went home after a 1-1 draw with Salzburg in the Champions League.

It was not clear what punishment the players faced for their actions, but the club later clarified that Ancelotti had the authority to order the team to train.

Ancelotti, who won the FA Cup Double with Chelsea in 2009-10, is one of three managers to have won the Champions League three times, along with Zinedine Zidane and Bob Paisley.

He is now out of a job, and Napoli will be looking for a new manager to lead them in the Champions League.
