Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's court drama unfolded on December 10, 2019, as he was taken to Milimani law Court in an ambulance for a bail ruling. His lawyers, Miller and Murkomen, were present to defend him.

According to Miller, Sonko had been receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) since December 9, 2019, for uncontrolled hypertension. Miller produced letters indicating that Sonko was supposed to be in the hospital at the time of the court appearance.

Miller stated, 'Sonko insisted that he had to appear in court this morning despite his ailment. He is here contrary to doctors' instructions.'

Miller also confirmed that Sonko was on a drip, and Murkomen added that Sonko had passed out in the morning before being brought to court.

The court ordered Sonko to process cash bail and be released immediately or be admitted to a hospital outside Kamiti Prison if necessary.

The case will be mentioned on January 15, 2020.
