On Sunday, William Makali Wamalwa, a 25-year-old Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Nairobi, was found unconscious in his room and rushed to a hospital in Kitale, where he was pronounced dead.

Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has dismissed rumors circulating on social media that the young man died from depression, drug abuse, and alcoholism.

According to Eugene Wamalwa, William looked fine during the day but was found unconscious in his room. He was rushed to a hospital in Kitale, where he was pronounced dead.

Robert Wamalwa, William's uncle, revealed that the young man was diabetic at the time of his death, which might have contributed to his demise.

However, Eugene Wamalwa has urged Kenyans to wait until an autopsy is carried out to determine the cause of death.

"A post-mortem will be done and we will be releasing an official family statement to state the main cause of death of our dear son," Eugene Wamalwa said.
