Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has taken a swipe at former teammate Romelu Lukaku after Inter Milan's Champions League campaign ended in disappointment.

Inter Milan finished third in their Champions League group with seven points after a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the San Siro on December 11, 2019.

Shaw, who played alongside Lukaku at Manchester United, couldn't resist taking a dig at his former teammate after Inter's Champions League exit.

Shaw shared a screenshot of Lukaku's old Twitter post, which showed the Belgian smiling and captioned 'UCL' with a smiley emoji.

Shaw cheekily replied 'Welcome back' to Lukaku's post, implying that the Belgian striker had failed to achieve his goal of playing Champions League football.

Lukaku left Manchester United in August 2019 to join Inter Milan in search of Champions League football, but his new team's failure to beat Barcelona ended their campaign in Europe's top tier championship after just six matches this season.
