Published on December 11, 2019, a police raid in Homa Bay County led to the arrest of 21-year-old Victor Andrew Ongo'do.
He was accused of hiding a 16-year-old girl at his home in Omindi village, Kodero sub-location, Kanyipir.
According to Regina Onyony, the Kodero Sub-Location Assistant chief, the police stumbled upon the girl during an impromptu raid.
The raid was initially prompted by a tip-off that Ongo'do had stolen chairs from a funeral a week ago.
However, the police were shocked to find the girl locked up inside the house.
It is alleged that Ongo'do lured the minor from her home in Omboga, Kanyaluo Location, a week ago, and has been defiling her.
The girl had been living with her grandfather, who reported her missing and tried to find her, but to no avail.
Ongo'do was taken to Kendu Bay Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court this week.
