On December 11, 2019, Danish Brewing Company EA Limited announced plans to establish a KSh4.59 billion production facility in Kenya, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the country.

The new facility, which is expected to have a capacity of 12-15 million bottles annually, will further solidify Danish Brewing's position in the Kenyan market.

As part of its expansion plans, Danish Brewing acquired King Breweries in July 2019 from Centum, a Kenyan investment company, for KSh130 million.

King Breweries was the sole importer and distributor of several international brands, including Carlsberg, Tuborg, Teacher whisky, and Jim Beam whiskeys.

The new facility is expected to create employment opportunities for 350 staff members, with the company also planning to source sorghum from 17,000 farmers enrolled in the Farmers Outreach Program.
