Lang'ata West Primary School, where Andrew Kibe's son studies, has been struggling with inadequate toilet facilities. In a bid to address this issue, Kibe has organized an auction event to raise funds for the construction of decent toilets.
Speaking to Mpasho, Kibe revealed that he got the idea after visiting his son's school and finding the toilets in a poor condition. He decided to take action, but initially, he lacked the resources to do so. It took him two years to gather the necessary means, and the event is finally taking place today evening at the Blu Bistro, Nextgen Mall.
During the interview, Kibe expressed his gratitude to the celebrities who have contributed to the project, including Radio Africa CEO Patrick Quarcoo, Kiss presenter Kamene Goro, and others. He also acknowledged the support of Quick Mart, which supplied a whole year's worth of tissue paper to the school.
According to Kibe, the event will feature an hour of auctioning at Blu Bistro and on social media platforms. He emphasized the importance of providing pupils with dignity by ensuring that they have access to clean and well-maintained toilets.
When asked about the challenges he faced in organizing the event, Kibe admitted that procrastination had been a significant obstacle. However, he eventually overcame this hurdle and is now committed to making a positive impact on his community.
