Chelsea Qualify for Champions League Knockout Stages

Chelsea secured their place in the Champions League knockout stages with a 2-1 win over Lille at Stamford Bridge on December 11, 2019.

The Blues were in a precarious position, relying on other results to go their way, but a win over Lille would have been enough to secure their spot in the knockout stages.

Chelsea's Tammy Abraham opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but Lille equalized through a Willian own goal in the 33rd minute.

However, Chelsea took the lead for good in the 35th minute when Cesar Azpilicueta scored the winner, his first goal of the season.

Despite being in a difficult position, Chelsea's win over Lille, combined with Ajax's loss to Valencia, ensured that the Blues would finish second in Group H.

Chelsea will now face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on December 14, 2019, in their final group stage match.
