On December 9, 2019, a 12-year-old girl from Weston, a suburb north of Miami, was arrested in Florida for allegedly threatening to kill students at her school on Snapchat.

The girl, who was not identified, posted the threatening messages on Friday, December 6, 2019, and was taken into custody on Saturday night.

According to the Broward County sheriff's office, the threats included a death list with student names from Falcon Cove Middle School and another threat that indicated students were not safe and would be killed on Monday, December 9, 2019.

The sheriff's office was notified of the posting by another student at the Falcon Cove Middle School and her parent, and police tracked the post to the girl, who confirmed she wrote it.
