On December 10, 2019, a bizarre incident occurred when Uvinalies Nyabuto attempted to stop President Uhuru Kenyatta's motorcade on State House road.

Nyabuto, who was holding a placard, asked the President to help him get a job in the Kenya Defence Forces.

The placard read: 'Your Excellency, kindly offer (me) a chance to join the (Kenya) Defence Forces. Am (sic) sorry for (the) disrespect (meted upon) your security.'

The placard was confiscated, and Nyabuto was taken to Kilimani police station.

President Kenyatta's motorcade was headed from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) after he attended the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Incidents like Nyabuto's, where youth walk around with placards begging for jobs, are unfortunately commonplace.
