On Tuesday, a man's desperate attempt to secure a job took an unexpected turn when he blocked President Uhuru Kenyatta's motorcade along State House road.

According to a police report, the motorcade was headed towards State House from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), where the President had attended the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific Summit of Heads of State and Government on December 10, 2019.

The suspect, identified as Uvinalies Nyabuto, obstructed the convoy while displaying a placard bearing the words, 'YOUR EXCELLENCY KINDLY OFFER A CHANCE TO JOIN THE DEFENCE FORCES AM SORRY FOR DISRESPECT YOUR SECURITY. PLEASE MR PRESIDENT. NYABUTO.'

He was immediately arrested by the Presidential Escort Unit, who then confiscated the placard, and later transferred to Kilimani Police Station for detention.
