President Kenyatta emphasized his commitment to protecting and promoting the region's interests during his three-year term.
He stated, 'I will be seeking to ensure that we are incorporated into the global economy. We are not looking for dependency because what we want are agreements that ensure a win-win situation for all partners.'
Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley also emphasized the need for member states to shift their economic development focus from raising the gross domestic product to ensuring that ordinary citizens feel the impact of the growth.
