As of December 10, 2019, the government has begun a comprehensive vetting and licensing process for all private security providers in the country.

The Interior Ministry has issued a statement outlining the requirements for the vetting exercise, which is set to conclude on March 31, 2020.

Private security firms must submit various documents, including registration certificates, identification documents, KRA PINs, and certificates of good conduct for each director, partner, trustee, and shareholder.

Additionally, firms are required to provide audited accounts for the past three years, certified shareholders certificates, immigration status, and valid work permits for expatriates.

They must also submit passport-sized photos and contact information for every director, partner, trustee, and shareholder.

Only firms that have undergone security vetting and clearance will be considered for licensing by the specified deadline.
