On December 10, 2019, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed Angola's Vice President Bornito de Sousa to a meeting at the State House in Nairobi.
During the meeting, President Kenyatta expressed Kenya's interest in strengthening cooperation with Angola in various areas, as conveyed by Vice President de Sousa from his Angolan counterpart, President João Lourenço.
President Kenyatta also thanked President Lourenço for sending a high-level representative to the Nairobi Summit, a gesture he described as a testament to the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
Additionally, President Kenyatta congratulated Angola on the election of George Chicoti as the Secretary General of the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group, with whom he looked forward to working in the coming years.
In response, Vice President de Sousa congratulated President Kenyatta on taking over the presidency of the ACP group and on Kenya's National Day celebrations on December 12.
