Sergio Ramos Suggests Separate Ballon d'Or Category for Messi and Ronaldo

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has sparked debate in the football world by suggesting that the Ballon d'Or award should be split into two categories, one for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and another for other players.

Speaking to Mexican broadcaster TUDN, Ramos stated, "They could make a Ballon d'Or only for Cristiano and Messi depending on results…and another for the rest,” Ramos told Mexican broadcaster TUDN. “In the end, it would be better for football.”

Ramos, who has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining the club in 2005, has won numerous accolades, including four Champions Leagues and several domestic and continental silverware. He has scored 89 goals and 38 assists in 625 appearances across competitions.

Earlier this year, Messi won the FIFA The Best award, beating both Van Dijk and Ronaldo to the prize. Messi recently produced a spectacular performance against Mallorca in a La Liga tie, scoring a hat-trick in a 5-2 win for Barcelona.
